Today is death anniversary of Pt. Bhagatram Amarnath -- one of
the duo of Pt. Husnalal-Bhagaram pair. Today's song is composed
by them and subsequent posts till early next month, will bring
songs by them.

#110
Song: Hume Duniya Ko Dil Ke Zakhm Dilkhalaana Nahi Aata
Tadap Lete Hain Lekin, Dil Ko Tadpaana Nahi Aata

        Film: Aadhi Raat (1950)
        Music: Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram
        Lyrics: Asad Bhopali
        Singer: Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar
        *ing: ?

Usually Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram songs are predictable. Although
highly enjoyable they are repetitive. But to their credit, they
have composed songs in various styles too. This song, is a case
where tune is sort of new and fresh. Rafi and Lata are very sweet
here.

My favourite from the movie is Lata song penned by Asad Bhopali

Dil Hi To Hai Tadap Gaya, Dard Se Bhar Na Aye Kyun, Aaye
Kyun
Royenge Hum Hazaar Baar, Koi Hume Sataaye Kyun Sataye
Kyun

Effect of sarangi, flute and sitar is striking.

Then there are two more Lata solos, I have heard which are
standard Pt. Husnlal Bhagatram tunes:

        Ban Ke Suhagan Rahi Abhaagan

and
Rona Hi Kikhaa Tha Kismat Me, Ham Geet Khushe Ke Gaa Na
Sake

Second one is better than first one. Respective lyricists are
Sarshar Sailani and Khumar Barabanki.
