Song: Hamen ho gaya tumse pyaar
                Bedardi baalma
                Haaye bedardi baalma

        Film: Madhosh (1951)
        Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
        Music: Madan Mohan
        Lyrics: Raja Mehdi Ali Khan
*ing: Manhar Desai, Meena Kumari, Usha Kiron

I believe this is one of Madan Mohan's earliest compositions. A
lovely tune. I especially like the way the antaraas are composed-
the first one goes -
        'Badle mein pyaar ke
         Thodasa pyaar de
         Dil beqaraar hai
         Dil ko qaraar de
         Hamen apna kaho ek baar
         Bedardi baalma
         Haaye bedardi baalma'

Great lyrics, and a lovely, somewhat convoluted tune for the
antaraas- they are rather reminiscent of the way Sajjad used to
compose them. Beautifully composed and sung.

This is my favorite Lata track from this movie- there are four
others, and a chorus too. The most popular song from this film, I
think though, is Talat's memorable Meri yaad mein tum na aansoo
bahaana'.

With this melody, we end our tribute to Mahjabeen Bux a.k.a Meena
Kumari- one of the Indian screen's most enduring and mystical
legends.

(For Meena Kumari fans, I recently heard that an authorized
biography of the actress has been published in India, that's
stirring up quite a bit of excitement and controversy. I plan to
sag myself a copy when I go to India later this year. Does anyone
have any further info on this ?)

PS A confession: I'm not 100% sure this song is picturized on
Meena Kumari, though I'm willing to bet on it. If I've blundered,
please let me know.. and accept my apologies in advance.
