Song: Unke bulaave pe doley mera dil
Jaaoon to mushkil
Na jaaoon to mushkil
Film: Nau Bahar (1952)
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
Music: Roshan
Lyrics: Shailendra
*ing: Ashok Kumar, Nalini Jaywant
Listening to this song on the EMI CD (Jogan/Nau Bahar) is a
supremely irritating experience.
Lemme qualify this- the song is *captivatingly* beautiful... I
just can't get over it. It's one of those haunting tunes that you
keep humming for over a day after listening to it- it is
unbelievably melodious. A lovely, lilting rhythm, an incredibly
sweet tune, and the ultimate icing- Lata ! (I just can't lose the
superlatives here).
The PROBLEM is, on the CD it comes unceremoniously superimposed
with yards of dialogue !??! I can understand putting a word here
or there to stay faithful to the movie, but this track takes the
term "original soundtrack recording" to an atrociously intrusive
extreme- it gulps up almost 40% of the song, dagnabit !!
Anyway, the song is precious- Snehal discussed the songs from
this movie a long time ago on ATMJH, but somehow he missed out on
this diamond. The movie *is* filled some of Roshan's most
beautiful compositions, most of them Lata solos.
And a plea to all RMIMers - if you have or have come across this
song on any sort of audio medium MINUS the dialogues, please
PLEASE let me know... I shall be eternally grateful !!
