Song:   Saanwari surat man bhaayi re piya
                Tori saanwari surat man bhaayi
Armaanon ne li angdaayi (2) re piya
                Tori saanwari surat man bhaayi

        Film:   Ada (1951)
        Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
        Music:  Madan Mohan
        Lyrics: Prem Dhawan
        *ing:   Rehana, Shekhar

It is said that Madan Mohan used to  sometimes  tell  Lata  at  a
recording : "You've heard my composition, now sing as you please"
.  The enduring relationship these two shared is one of filmdom's
cherished  legends,  especially  because their combined chemistry
has given us some of the most unforgettable melodies of all time.

Strangely enough, Madan Mohan's  first  released  film  'Aankhen'
(1950), does not feature a single song by Lata. This lovely track
from his *second* release, is one of the earliest (probably  even
the first) songs Lata sang for 'Madan-bhaiyya'. A liltingly sweet
tune, in perfect sync with the  artlessly  uncomplicated  honesty
and almost childlike innocence of the lyrics.

There're a couple of  other  Lata  solos  on  this  soundtrack  -
'Preetam  meri duniya mein do din to rahey hotey', a much slower,
mellower track, and 'Aankhon aankhon mein unse pyaar ho gaya',  a
cheerful, sprightly tune. However, 'sanwari surat man ..' remains
my favorite from this one.
