This is probably one of the very few musical scores creditable to
Datta  Koregaonkar in the post-independence era, once his beloved
Noor Jehan had migrated to  Pakistan.  Did  he  really  have  any
memorable hits in the 50s ?

Be that as it may, this charming duet from the early 50s  is  one
of  my  all-time  favorite  Lata/Rafi  scores. Though it does not
display any of the  semi-classical  intricacies  that  K  Datta's
earlier  tunes  were  meshed with (the 1945 Noor Jehan soundtrack
"Badi Maa" for instance, which, incidentally, also  had  Lata  in
it's  cast),  its  a  sweet, mellow tune that reacts harmoniously
with the uncomplicated, heartfelt words. I rather  like  the  way
the  male  and  female  voices interact in this duet, through the
'alaapi' and the humming.
