Message-ID: <1993Oct20.175932.113064@ns1.cc.lehigh.edu> Date: Wed, 20 Oct 1993 17:59:32 GMT Organization: Lehigh University Lines: 68 RMIM ke bhaio aur baheno, This is #2 of a series based on the famous Vividh Bharathi radio program "Chhaya Geet" in which songs based on a particular theme are played. This series serves to corroborate the "Naushad fan postulate" which states that for every REAL life situation, there exists atleast one REAL song which can be sung in your IMAGINARY world ! :-) This series is also a small tribute to my favourite Vividh Bharathi announcer and Chhaya Geet hostess Kanta Gupta. CHHAYA GEET #2 TODAY'S SITUATION/THEME: Insomnia! Most of us are in / have been through grad. school, and therefore are familiar with sleepless nights. But today's theme is based on the sleepless nights spent for reasons other than research! Read on and enjoy the songs on "Neen uRjana" Sami Mohammed (A Naushad fan).... whose sleepless nights have been just "sawalon ki raaten, jawabon ke din" ! 1. Aaa, aaaaaaaaaaaa...... Raina beet jae, shyam na aae Raina beet jae, Nindiya na aae, nindiya na aae Raina beet jae...... (Lata) 2. Neend kabhi rehti thi aankhon me Ab rehte hain sanwariya Khwab kabhi rehte the aankhon me Ab rehte hain sanwariya................(Lata) 3. Hai re hai Neend nahin aae, Chaen nahin aae, Dil me tu samae, Aaya pyar bhara mausam diwana, diwana .... (Rafi/Lata) 4. Neend churae, chaen churae daka daale teri bansi Are din-dahaDe chori kare, raat bhar jagae Daka daale teri bansi........(Lata) 5. Yaad me teri jaag jaag ke hum Raat bhar karwaten badalte hain Har ghadi dil me teri ulfat ke Dheeme dheeme charag jalte hain..... (Rafi/Lata) 6. Chanda O chanda kisne churaee teri meri nindiya Jaage saari raina, tere mere naina.....(Lata) 7. Hai jiya roe, roe Hai jiya roe, Ek main hi jaaaaagun Saara jag soe, Hai jiya roe...... (Lata) Could someone tell me the MD/Movie from which #7 is taken ? Its a haunting melody set to a very high pitch; a very difficult song to sing. I think it is picturized on Nalini Jaiwant. Thanks. Aaj ka chhaya geet samapt karne ki anumati deejie.
