RMIM ke bhaio aur baheno,

This is #29 of a series based on the famous Vividh Bharathi radio program
"Chhaya Geet" in which songs based on a particular theme are played.

This series serves to corroborate the "Naushad fan postulate" which states
that for every REAL life situation, there exists atleast one REAL song which
can be sung in your IMAGINARY world ! :-) This series is also a small tribute
to my favourite Vividh Bharathi announcer and Chhaya Geet hostess Kanta Gupta.

CHHAYA GEET #29

TODAY'S SITUATION/THEME: Friendship is a wonderful thing. There are
friendships which last for a lifetime. But then unfortunately, there are also
those friendships which have to be terminated for one reason or the other.
Some end due to petty reasons and are often lost because of the individual's
reluctance to take the first step to patch things up, always expecting the
other to call him/her back. This, IMHO, is the most ridiculous reason for
ending a relationship. However, this may also be the most common reason as
well. Gulzar has wrapped this dilemma wonderfully in the title song from
Thodisi Bewafai:

"Unhe ye zid thhi ke hum bulaate
 Hume ye umeed woh pukaaren"

In other cases, minor misunderstandings or lack of confidence cause break-ups:
"Dosto shak dosti ka dushman hai, apne dil me ise ghar banane na do..."

Irrespective of what the reason is, the end of a good friendship always leaves
a permanent mark on one's life:

Rajendra Krishan has captured the end of a relationship extremely well in the
Talat gem "Humse aaya na gaya tumse bulaaya na gaya..." :

 Pyaar ka baaGH lagaya thha ujaRne ke lie
