Mausiqui ke duniya ke bhaio aur behano,

Baaten karne ko jee chah raha tha, to soncha ke thoda type karke rmim gurus se
kuch kahun.
Rmim bhi ek nasha hai dost jo chaRta hai to poochho mat kya aalam hota hai.
Lekin jab utarta hai..........

I'm sure the net gurus must've recognized the dAnand song before which the
above lines are  spoken.

One has come across songs in Hindi movies which are based on popular
movie titles (Eg: Mere jeevan saathi.... from Ek duje ke lie). I have
attempted something similar yet diff. I have tried to make a story out of
popular songs. The gamut of film songs is like a dictionary where you'll find
a word for every situation. In fact, it's also a thesaurus in which you'll
find a number of diff songs for each situation.


                   ****** Ek "MUSICAL" DastaaN  ******


Our story unfolds with a happy coulple rejoicing the birth of a son who they
feel will fulfil all their dreams "Maangi thi ek dua jo khubool ho gaee.....".
The father is confident of his son's future and feels that "Mera naam karega
roshan jag me mera rajdulara......." The mother also has good expectations of
her son "Tu banke badal gagan me uRe......." . The son, who happens to be the
hero of our story (Khalnayak nahin, nayak hai woh....... THANK GOD :-) starts
with the usual "colourful" ambitions of becoming a band-master or a
firefighter and finally decides that "Bada hoke desh ka sahara banoonga,
duniya ki ankhon ka taara banuga......" We shall arbit.ly call our hero "VIJAY"


Act II: The Transition:

The scene starts with Vijay carrying a bandook(gun) on his shoulders and singing
"Nanha munna raahi hoon......." The picture now fades as we observe the
growing up process of our hero from "Mashter" Vijay to Vijay Babu who is now
carring a guitar over his shoulders and singing "Lakhon hai nigaah me zindagi
ki raah me sanam haseen jawaan........"  Vijay has finally discovered that the
real purpose of his life is something other than desh seva. Vijay has stepped
into the dilwaalon ki duniya and announces his arrival with "Bachna ai
haseenon, lo mai aa gaya....." . Vijay however soon realizes that pataoing a
girl is not easy and his song changes from "Lakhon hain nigaah me......" to
"Lakhon hai yahan dil wale, par pyaar nahin milta, aankhon me kisiki wafa ka
iqraar nahin milta......". Now Vijay knows that "Akela hun main is duniya me,
saathi hai to mera saaya....", but he takes it light-heartedly "Ye dil na hota
bechara, quadam na hote awara, jo khoobsoorat koi apna humsafar hota". Still
Vijay doesn't seem to succeed and is ready to compromise for a pseudo-romance
"Pal bhar ke lie koi hume pyaar karle, jhoota hi sahi". Still no success.
Vijay is highly discouraged, yet he doesn't lose hope "Kabhi na kabhi,
kahin na kahin koi na koi to aaega, apna mujhe banaega"


At last Vijay finds his dreamgirl whom he befriends. And then "Dillagi ne di
hawa thodasa duan utha aur aag jal gaee, Teri meri dosti pyar me badal gaee.."
Vijay is finally certain that he is in love when his dreamgirl asks "Koi
batade dil hai jahan kyun hota hai dard wahan". Vijay is ecstatic and declares
"Chandsi mehbooba ho meri kab aisa maine soncha tha, Han tum bilkul waisi ho
jaisa maine soncha tha". His jan-e-man also reciprocates with "Mere dilne jo
manga mil gaya, maine jo kuch bhi chaha mil gaya, ho gaee pyar ki har tamanna
tamanna jawan". Things go on smoothly for a while and they express their
feelings for each other "Janam janam ka saath hai nibhane ko, sau sau baar
maine janam lie"  "Jab tak rahe tan me jia wada raha O sathia hum tumhare lie
tum humare lie"


ACT III: THE BEWAFAI

Vijay gathers the courage to propose marriage to his janeman and is stunned
when she says "Main tumse mohabbat karti hun, par shadi ke naam se darti hun,
rahoongi main tumhari umr saari, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY". Vijay is taken aback
but manages to say "Agar bewafa tujhko pehchan jaate, Khuda ki kasam hum
mohabbat na karte" . Vijay now has two options: 1. To curse her "Mere dushman
tu meri dosti ko tarse" or 2. To confront her directly. Vijay chooses the
latter and demands "Kitne atal the tere iradey.......Tu auron ki kyun ho gaee?"
She repies: "Han main bewafa, kisi aur ke saajan ki saheli ho gaee" Vijay is
heartbroken "Kya se kya ho gaya, bewafa tere pyaar me" His janeman finally
realizes that Vijay is her true love and she cannot stay away from him any
longer "Woh dil kahan se laaun, teri yaad jo bhulade, mujhe yaad aane waale
koi raasta batadey" and comes back begging "Maine tujhe badi der me jaana, hua
khusoor khafa mat hona re" Vijay forgives her upon which she expresses her
gratitude "Badi wafa se nibhaee tumne humari thodisi bewafai"


ACT IV: CONCLUSION


Vijay finally decides to get married and has to live through what might be
every bridegroom's nightmare when the losing finalist (in aashiqui) comes up
to the altar to try his luck one last time "Teri shadi pe dun tujhko tohfa
main kya, pesh karta hun dil ek toota hua..... bewafa hi sahi dilruba hai
meri" Vijay is relieved when his janeman packs the "other guy" off with a
casual "Guzra hua zamana aata nahin dubara, haafiz Khuda tumhara"

Vijay and his wife then lived happily ever after........ I guess I'd be termed
a male chauvinist - - - if I do not include the foll. song which Vijay later
sang :-) "Koi kunwara maane na maane, shadi kare jo ye wohi jaane, zamana to
hai naukar biwi ka"


When last heard, Vijay was singing "Mujhe meri biwi se bachaao"  :-)
