Sangeet ke duniya ke Bhaio aur Baheno,

Here's "Rmim"-Jhim Geeton ki 5 (finally!). I am really sorry for the delay,
but anyway, too many quizzes in too short a duration is not healthy. For those
of you not familiar with R-J G Ki, it is a quiz in which the clues are lines
(may not be complete) from somewhere in the middle of a song, and all you have
to do is guess the song. Eg: For the clue "Logon ko aatay hain do nazar hum
magar....", the correct answer would be the song "Ye dosti hum nahin
chhoRengay...." from Sholay. However, please DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ON THE
NET. Instead, e-mail them directly to me and I will "grade" them and post the
answers and the results in the week of Oct 25.

Abhay Avachat, who compiled R-J 3 had the great idea that each R-J be set to a
certain theme. Hence, R-J 3 was a Rafi special, while R-J 4 (which was
compiled by Vivek Vohra) was a Kishore special. Both these quizzes were
extremely popular (response was great). Abhay and Vivek have really set high
standards for me to emulate.

Some people have shown interest in compiling similar quizzes on Lata, Mukesh
and Hemant Kumar. I hope they do it, so that I can participate too. However, I
request them to wait until I post the results of this quiz.

The theme of R-J 5 is SUPER DUETS. All the songs in these quiz are melodious
duets, and almost all of them, IMHO, have also been picturized very well. All
the songs are male/female duets (no all-male or all-female duets). However,
they might have some chorus. Most of the songs are by Rafi and KK (in fact 8
each), but also represented are Hemant Kumar, Bhupendra, Mukesh, Mahendra
Kapoor, Manna Dey and Talat Mehmood.There may be other singers too,
but the above are definitely included. On the female side, most of the songs,
naturally, are by Lata and Asha. Other singers may also be represented. One of
the "others" who IS included is Anuradha Paudwal, but the song is not from the
90's (big clue here!). Again, the clues may or may not be the opening lines of
the stanza, and the may or may not be complete lines.

Finally, I would like to mention that the idea of having the answers e-mailed
directly and not posted on the net was originally that of Kumara Thirumalai.
Also, the last 2 R-Js were won by Rajesh Subramanian. Let's see if he can pull
off a hat-trick. But, the real fun is in participation, which makes this
pain-staking effort a success. So, do participate even if you can't get all
the answers right.

Although, R-J 1-4 have shown the futility of arranging the clues in an order
of difficulty, I just couldn't resist the temptation. So, the clues are
arranged in an increasing order of difficulty (acc. to me, of course).
