Song: Muhobbat Par~ Bahaar Aati, Jahan Gulzaar Ho Jata
Meri ????? Nazaron Ko Tera Didaar Ho Jaata

        Film: Shayar (1949)
        Music: Gulam Mohammad
        Lyrics: Shaqeel Badayuni
        Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: Dev Anand, Suraiya, Kamini Kaushal

Although, film is known for two beautiful duets, both involving
Lata (and hence my question mark in *cast information):

Do Bichhade Hue Dil, Aapas Me Gaye Mil
Armaanon Ki Nagari Me Hua Aaj Savera
Jab Dil Se Mile Dil, Mite ??? Ke Sare Gham?
                .................. Tamannaon Ka Dera?

Here Lata's duet partner was G M Durrani. In other duet it was
Mukesh --

Ye Duniya Hai (2), Yahan Dil Ka Lagaana Kisko Aata Hai
Hazaaron Pyaar Karte Hain, Nibhaana Kisko Aata
Hai
Ye Duniya Hai (2), Yahan Dil Me Samaana Kisko Aata Hai
Mitaane Waale Lakhon Hain, Banaana Kisko Aata Hai

Great songs.

Today's forever-young, starts with following couplet:

Tere Khayal Ko Sine Se Lagaye Baithe Hain
Hum Intezaar Ki Duniya Basaye Baithe Hain

It gives you a feeling, although a momentary, to listening to
Noorjahan, the way Lata takes the sher. And then immediately the
song starts. In my opinion, there are only two very melodious
songs in the film. All other thrive on good rhythm and good
singing. Orchestra is minimal for this song. Song is supposed to
be among best of Lata for Gulam Mohammad. Of course there is one
more Lata song in the film;

Tu Dur Hai Aankhon Se Mere Dil Ko Ye Gam Hai~
Aaja Meri Duniya Me, Tuze~ Meri Kasam Hai

but fails to ascend as high. The above song carries a standard
Gulam Mohammad stamp.

Now, the other most melodious song of the film. Naturally, when
one reads above, Suraiya being lead actress, immediately arises a
question: Snehal, no song of Suraiya ?! Well, here is one, I know

Hume Tum, Bhul Baithe Ho, Tumhe Hum Yaad Karte Hain
        Judaai Me, Raat-Din Fari`yaa~~d Karate Hain ...

A song that reminds other great musician, Sajjad Hussain and his
glorious music for film 1857 [ San Athareh Sau Sattavan ] (1947).

Finally a Rafi-Shamshad duet. Well, nothing great about it. Just
that Kishor Kumar is still struggling at this time, and hence his
future role is played by Rafi. Yes, Rafi does Kishor Kumar! [ A
sort of ]

O Balamaa Kahe Mari Kataar, Tore Nainva .....

Unfortunately not heard the song for long time and don't recall
it completely. Ayway, Rafi does a good job and so does Shamshad,
in creating "sharaarati" mood.

Note:- As far as the song is concerned, I am little off the
actual lyrics. I will correct them on Monday.
