Yesterday -- 27th January -- was death anniversary of Sohrab Modi
-- The lion of Minerva Movieton. He gave us many historical films
like Sikandar, Yahudi, Zansi Ki Rani etc. etc. He also gave us
social dramas in Shish Mahal, Jailor etc. All his films had
memorable songs. I pay tributes to him through ATMJH, by
recalling this soundtrack of 1950s, still remembered by people
#141
Song: Ye Bahaaron Ke Din, Ye Suhaana Samaa
Ab To Sun Lijiye, Pyaar Ki Daastaan
Film: Kundan (1956)
Music: Gulam Mohammad
Lyrics: Shaqeel Badayuni
Singer: Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar
*ing: Balraj Sahani?, ?
This song has very pleasant, quite melodious tune. Orchestral
movements are ver y catchy; piano, violins, clarinet, tabla; all
play a significant role in it. Listening to this song, gives a
good feelings and fatigue, if any, vanishes.
There exist two good Lata solos. One, in particular, was hit then
Shikayat Kya Karun Dono Taraf Gam Ka Fasaana Hai
Mere Aage Muhobat Hai, Tere Aage Zamaana Hai
Other, song is also worth listening: Jahan Waale Hume Duniya Me
Kyun Paida Kiya Tune, has standard Gulam Mohammad stamp on it.
Film also has an enjoyable, light duet by S D Batish and Sudha
Malhotra
Aao Hamaari Hotel Me, Chhay Piyo Ji Garama Garama
Bhajiya Khao Narama Narama ..........
