This is last post on C Ramchandra, in current series. We will pay our attention to his songs again, some time later. #158 Song: Dil Ka Ye Injan Sitiyaan Maaere Aaja Sajan Aa Ja, Line Clear Hai ... Film: Ustad Pedro (1951) Music: Ramchandra Chitalkar Lyrics: Raja Menhdi Ali Khan Singer: Chitalkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Chorus *ing: ? C Ramchandra, should be given credit for lifting romantic songs to new height, from it's restricted levels, prevailing in the then society. When other lyricist/composers were still staying within the boundary drawn by the then standards, Chitalkar came with songs like this. And this was not just one in that category. There were whole lot of them in it. He crossed that barrier and gave two nice romantic songs in the process, in this very film. The other one and my favourite from the film 'Tere Dil Pe Jaadu Kar Gaya Re, Mera Paan Muhobbat Wala' I am sure he must have been criticised then, when critics won't except beyond "Maahi O Dupatta Mera De De' or 'Nazaren Milaake Zaraa Baat Karoji'. I don't mean these songs were bad, (in fact they are some of the best songs, as well) what I am stating is, he showed guts and a way to new class of songs. The third song, I know from the film is a Lata solo. A slow, typical Ramchandra tune for 'Kisi Ko Kya De Gaye Ho Nishani Dekhte Jaao'. I perhaps have heard a Chitalkar solo from the film too, but am not sure about that.
