Song: Gaaye Chalaa Ja, Gaaye Chalaa Ja
Ik Din Tera Bhi Zamaana Aayega
Film: Humlog (1950)
Music: Roshan
Lyrics: Adil & Udhdhav
Singer: G M Durrani, Lata Mangeshkar, Chorus
*ing: Balraj Sahani, Nutan, Shyama
One more favourite song of mine. I like choral effect here. My
only complain for this song is that it completes after 3 minutes!
It's so engaging, end sounds like "sudden death". As usual
Roshan's interludes are pretty.
Apart from this one of the most popular song of that time, film
had these three popular songs
Chhun Chhun Chhun, Baaje Paayal Mori, Baaje Payal Mori
Aaja Chori Chori, Aaja Chori-Chori .... (By 'sweet' Lata)
Bahe Akhiyon Se Dhaar, Jiya Mera Baqaraar
Jaoge Kahaan Dil Tod Ke, Dil Tod Ke.... (By Lata - A
mellow song)
Apani Nazar Se, Unki Nazar Tak, Ek Zamanaa Ek Fasaana
Jisame Hon Aap Jaise, Laakhon Zamaane Me, Apane Dil Ka
Kaun Thikaana
This one is by Mukesh. A fabulous song. Knowing this song, I find
it astonishing ,hearing someone say: Mukesh sounds sad even in
cheerful songs.
Lata's 'Bahe Akhiyon Se' is nice tune, but is pure vanilla.
'Chhun Chhun Baje' is nice semi-classical number. Other notable
Lata solo was 'Chali Chali Ja~~~'; sung little higher than normal
Roshan compositions.
One more, upbeat song was sung Kishor Kumar and Shamshad Begum:
Remember that "Bogi Bogi Bogi' number ?
Film has two more songs; one each by Mukesh and Lata. Mukesh
number is slow paced one: 'Dil Ki Pareshaaniyan'. Lata sung a
lighter one: 'Bahut Bura Hai Haal'. Overall, it's a memorable
soundtrack by Roshan.
