I am quoting Chetan Vinchhi on today's ATMJH (w/o his permission, hoping he won't mind), hence making it first guest ATMJH. With this I conclude this series on grand old great man -- Anil Biswas -- who showed the music directors and music lovers in general, what a film music should be. - Snehal #233 Song: Saanz Ki Laali, Sulag Sulag Kar Ho Gai Kali Raat Aaye Na Phir Bhi Baalmaa, Main ???? ???? ??? ??? Intezaar Aur Abhi, Aur Abhi, Aur Abi, Intezaar Aur ... Film: Char Dil Char Raahen (1959) Music: Anil Biswas Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianwi Singer: Lata Mangeshkar *ing: Raj Kapoor, Meena Kumari, Shammi Kapoor, Nimmi, Ajit A raagmala with one stanza each based on Yaman, Bihag, Bhairav. The scene-on-the-screen incorporates a clock sounding the hour at the beginning of each stanza. Blending the clock sound with the music was a stroke of genius. Although I called this a mujra (due to the situation), it is really a semiclassical song. A true masterpiece.
