Some time back I made a reference to my desire of starting a series within ATMJH on singing MDs. (And in that process made a BIG mistake too :-)). Today I am starting that with Chitragupt, as planned.... #25 Song: Bhagwaan Tuze Main Khat Likhata Par Tera Pata ; Par Tera Pata Maalum Nahi... Film: Manchala (1953) Music: Chitragupt Lyrics: Raja Menhadi Ali Khan ? Singer: Chitragupt *ing: Nirupa Roy, Manhar Desai I wonder why unlike Ramchandra Chitalkar, Chitragupt didn't sing as much in spite of possessing a good voice. This song was by large the most popular of his (IMO). It's about all the complains of mankind to The Almighty! But in the different manner. This looks little light song. And he did good by singing himself for right effect. The other Chitragupta song which's popular in a section is: 'Good Bye Good Bye Tata Tata, Good Bye Good Bye Tata Tata Ankhon Ki Ulti Patti Palat Do Vanra Padega Chaantaa' !! sung with Laxmibai. Funny thing is (in current time) they sing 'Tata' as 'Taada' :-) (Sounds that way) But what should make a KKlaner happy is, KK has a duet with Chitragupt!!! And a very good one. 'Sardi Ka Bukhaar Bura, Baniye Ka Udhaar Bura Paise Ka Hai Pyaar Bura, Keh Gaye Kehane Waale' This was in the same film Manchala.
