Unsung Musicians - 1 #267 Song: Jinhe Hum Yaad Karte Hain, Wohi To Bhul Jaate Hain Na Jaane Baat Kya Hai, Aaj Aansoo Muskaraate Hain Film: Pilpili Saheb (1954) Music: Sardul Qwatra Lyrics: Hasrat Jaipuri Singer: Lata Mangeshkar *ing: ? I was introduced to this song by one friend in Vadodara during my college days. Since then I have tried to get a clean copy (since his was bad). The effect was -- I closed my eyes and remained spellbound until I heard a click of player, when he switched it off. Song starts with following opening couplet: Naiya Bhanwar Ke Bich Thi, Saahil Pe Aa Gaye Saari Bahaar? Chhod Ke, Mehfil Me Aa Gaye An impressive start indeed. The mukhda follows in very sweet voice of Lata set to one of the most mellow tune one can hear in years. I suppose this must be a remake of some Punjabi film. Sardul Qwatra has not very many films in Hindi films. I guess he was prolific in Punjabi circle. All his tunes I am familiar with (from few films) are all melodious.
