Unsung Musicians - 6 #272 Song: Jis Din Se Mile Hum Tum, Nayaa Din Laage, Nayi Raat Laage Naya Naya Laage Aalam~~~ ... Film: Lalkaar (1956) Music: Sanmukhbabu (Upadhyay) Lyrics: Pt. Bharat Vyas Singer: Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar *ing: ? Repetition of partial lines beginning with 'Naya' as in 'Naya Din Lage Re, Nayi Raat Laage Re, ...' is hallmark of this song. It sounds very nice. After every phrase (towards the end of antara), that's say 'Naya Gagan Laage' singer pauses and only one note of sitar is played. From there singer goes further to next phrases, the one that are followed by sole sitar note, are just rhymed. To come to 'sum' the last word of antara ending in '.m' as in Aalam is sung with nice longer than usual humming on '.m'. That creates lovely effect. Overall songs appears simple but it's a very creative mellow tuning. A kind of song that demands something extra from a singer and doesn't really on orchestration much to emerge winner. And when have two singers enjoying finest rappot with each other, with sweet voices, song naturally turns out to be real pleasure to listen.
