Just covering my bases.

Does this movie feature Talat in a negative role ? I haven't seen
it  but  that's  what I heard. And from the title of the movie, I
think a fair guess about the 'negativity' of the character can be
made.

Well, whatever villainish undertones the character may have, this
sublime  melody  dispels  any negative air around it. Beautifully
penned by Sahir, the song, both its  music  and  lyrics,  betrays
such  a  profound sincerity of feeling, that even Cleopatra would
bite. The song starts with soft acoustic strings, Talat's magical
voice  floats  in  softly,  and  melts into the lovely interludes
provided  alternately  by  sitar  pieces  and  Asha's   sprightly
humming.

As usual, Sahir's poetry never fails to make you skip a  beat  or
two  :
Mere khwaabon ke jharokhon ko sajaane waali
Tere khwaabon mein kahin mera guzar hai ke nahin
Poochh kar apni nigaahon se bataa de mujh ko
Meri raaton ke muqaddar mein sehar hai ke nahin
