Song:   Ek teer chalaane waale ne
Dil luut liya haaye luut liya ho~~

        Film:   Pugree (1948)
        Singer: Mukesh, Sitara
        Music:  Ghulam Mohammed
        Lyrics: Shakeel Badayuni

Ok, so after three of his forte  songs  (the  soft,  slow  ones),
here's  one that negates claims (if any) that that was all Mukesh
could do. This is a song you can tell as a Ghulam  Mohammed  tune
from  a mile away- very brisk-paced, short violin interludes that
generally echo the tunes of the words, and in general, very sweet
and endearing. An eminently rewindable song.

In addition to the charm of a very early Mukesh in this  song,  I
was  quite  struck by Sitara's voice; it's extraordinarily sweet.
Wonder why I haven't heard much of her.

I can't recall too many songs Mukesh sung for Ghulam Mohammed  in
the  50s- most of the popular ones I can recall are from the late
40s (e.g.  "Yeh  duniya  hai  yahaan.."  with  Lata  from  "Shair
(1949)"). Anyone have any stats on these two together ?
