Though mostly popular for one specific Rafi solo ("teraa
kaam hai jalnaa
parwaane") this movie contains quite an array of marquee
songs, mostly
Asha solos. This one is my absolute favorite from this movie.
A briskly
paced, innately melodious tune, which Asha has more than
done justice to.
I have to mention the other two Asha solos that compete closely
with
this one : "kaun kahey unse jaake ae huzoor, hamaaraa kya
qusoor" and
"ae jazbaa-e-mohabbat itnaa asar dikhaa de". Totally charming
tunes. And
hearing S Mohinder sing "guzraa huaa zamaana" with his distinctly
Punjabi
inflection at the RMIMehfil last year, I can well imagine
him singing
this one, which has got an even stronger Punjabi folk influence
than the
Shirin-Farhad track.
Aside: Goofy movie... I can see why it bombed.
