Nalini Jaywant, ?
I cannot think of any other composer who used the piano as
beautifully
and effectively as an emotive medium than Anil Biswas. A
number of his
songs start with soft, spaced-out piano strains that sometimes
give no
indication whatsoever of the rhythm and pace of the impending
song
(like in Mukesh's "ae jaan-e-jigar" from 'Aaram'), while
at other
times, melt beautifully with the main song (like Lata's
glorious
"tumhaare bulaane ko jii chaahta hai" from 'Laadli').
This song is one of the former category... the soft, entreating
piano
notes in the beginning (that have this really sad, longing
feel to them)
suddenly transform into the upbeat, joyous rhythm of the
main song.
It is a very happy, buoyant and beautifully composed tune.
I can very well
see Nalini Jaywant merrily chirping this song out on the
screen :-)
It is also a lovely piece of poetry by Satyendra (of the
"main dil
huu.n ek armaan bhara" fame). Beautiful metaphors and imagery
:
mai.n tere
dil ki baat huu.n, main tere dil ki baat huu.n
Thehrii
huii barsaat huu.n mai.n tere dil ki baat huu.n
qadamo.n
pe jiske chaa.ndni mai.n woh suhaani raat huu.n
yeh husn
ka paighaam le aa mera daaman thhaam le
I've only heard one other song from this movie- Lata's "kaTati
hai ab
to zindagi marne ke intezaar mei.n". Any more data on this
soundtrack ?
