Song: tera khayaal
dil se mitaaya nahiin abhi
bedard maine tujhko bhulaaya nahiin abhi
Film: Doraaha

Singer: Talat Mahmood
Music: Anil Biswas

A specimen from a genre that Talat positively excelled at - the
sad
wafters. This is a beautiful drawn-out melody from the master composer
who has given Talat some of his loveliest songs which notched varying
degrees of popularity starting with ARZOO's classic 'ae dil mujhe
aisi
jagah le chal'. Despite the atrocious quality of the recording
I have
(as will be evident from the clip below, I apologize for that),
the
song's haunting beauty shines through gloriously in Talat's trademark
soulful rendition. I often used to to confuse this with another
Talat
melody with a substantially overlapping mukhada - 'tera khayaal
dil ko
sataaye to karen', a Pandit Govindram composition from NAQAAB (1955).
Lata's 'loota hai zamaane ne, qismat ne mitaaya hai' and Talat's
'muhabbat tark ki maine, garebaan sii liya maine' are probably
the more
well-known songs from this precious Anilda soundtrack.
