#89 Song: Woh Meri Taraf Yun Chale Aa Rahe Hain Ke Armaan Dhadakan Se Takaraa Rahe Hain Film: Kafila (1952) Music: Husnalal Bhagatram Lyrics: Brajendra Gaud Singer: Kishor Kumar *ing: Ashok Kumar, Nalini Jaywant Kishor Kumar, in an interview once said that he has sung under all the major9 music conductors of his time. Here we have Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram composing for him a pleasing tune, that Kishor sings in a very controlled fashion. What I like in his early songs, apart from his natural magical voice, is bass and some ringing effect that I find in almost all major male singers of that time in their eraly period. Simple yet artful lyrics are yet another aspect of this song that catches my attention. In fact all songs (that I have heard) from the film are poetically very good. I guess the lyrics were by Brajendra Gaud and Qamar Jalalabadi. Kishor-da sung one beautiful duet with Lata too. Penned by Brajendra Gaud: Leharon Se Puchh Lo (2), Ya Kinaaron Se Puchh Lo (2) Phir Bhi~~ Yakeen Na Ho To (2), Sitaaron Se Pu~chh Lo ... I suppose, Kishor sung one more solo for the film; a sad one. ________________________________________________________________________________ 9 Here is the list of music directors for whom Kishor Kumar has sung (and I have heard): Khemchand Prakash, Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram, Sachin Deb Barman, Anil Biswas, Bhola Sreshtha, Shankar Jaikishan, Sajjad Hussain, Roshan, Madan Mohan, Ramchandra Chitalkar, Chitragupta, Ravi, Kalyanji Anandji, Vasant Desai, Sudhir Phadake, Salil Chowdhury, Hemant Kumar, ....
