After, a Kishor Kumar week, I will be posting songs composed by
Sachin Deb Barman till 30th of the month (till his anniversary
31st October) beginning from today.

#92
Song: Sainya Dil Me Aana Re, Aake Phir Na Jaana Re~~~,
Tam Tamaatam Tam
Raja Ban Ke Aana Re, Mohe Leke Jana Re~~~, Tam
Tamaatam Tam

        Film: Bahaar (1952)
        Music: Sachin Deb Barman
        Lyrics: Rajendrakrishna
        Singer: Shamshad Begam
        *ing: Karan Diwan, Vyjantimala

There are many songs in the film, which are remembered for some
unusual words used in them. These words don't have any particular
meaning associated with them. They add to the melody. I guess,
many a times they would have found a place, merely for filling
the void. Whatever may be the case, such songs have historically
been hit. Not only they became hit, people remember them for
those words. Today's song falls in that category. Usually, I have
a difficult time recalling this song, but for the 'Tam Tamaatam
Tam'! One name that comes to forefront in this respect is, of
Sachin-da. He has used this "tilasmi-words" effect quite well.
Remember that Baazi song 'Dekh Ke Akeli Mohe', where he has
"Tip-Tip Tip-Tip Tip' doing the trick. Similarly he produced
stunning number "Aa Gupchup-Gupchup Pyaar Karen' using the same
style. I guess few Jaal songs too, has such words in them, and
they all have come up rather very nicely.

Shamshad Begam was still on top around this time. We have no Lata
songs in the film. But we do have other top female singer of that
time, sharing the credits: Geeta Roy. Both female leads are
really enjoying their respective songs. Shamshad with her
natural higher pitch, she produces best effect on such folksy-
romantic-frolicking songs. Sachin-da uses Sarangi as lead
instrument.

Geeta comes with a very good song, that only she can do justice
to:

Bhagawaan Do Ghadi Zara Insaan Ban Ke Dekh
Kuchh Der Dharati Par Mehmaan Ban Ke Dekh,
Mehmaan Ban Ke Dekh

And finally we have that tandem song:

Kusoor Aap Ka, Huzoor Aap Ka
Mera Naam Lijye, Na Mere Baap Ka

How can you ever miss Kishor Kumar for such type of song, when
Sachin Dev Barman is a composer ? Other version is sung, and sung
equally well, by Shamshad Begam.
