About this web page

  • This page was originally put together many moons back during my aalam-e-jawaani. Those ``Khwaabon ke din aur kitaabon ke din, sawaalon ki raaten jawaabon ke din" were spent at the grad school of Lehigh University. The page contains articles posted by various knowledgeable people on the newsgroup, rec.music.indian.misc (RMIM), till about July '96. Since then, despite many attempts on my part, I have not able able to truly update the page as a result of time constraints. I have, therefore, decided to let the page be a reflection of what transpired on RMIM until mid-1996. For a more comprehensive collection, you are recommended to have a look at Satish Subramanian's awesome RMIM Page

I will no longer promise to update this page at a later date and hence will not be able to add any new links either. If you have any music-related queries, kindly post them on RMIM instead of contacting me. There are many people on RMIM who are much more knowledgeable than I and your chances of getting an answer would be higher. If, however, you have questions or comments about the page itself, please feel free to email me at [email protected]

And finally, thanks for browsing. I do hope you like the page and come back!

  • An Introduction to Indian Film Music (Renu Thamma)

  • The Golden Era of Indian Film Music (Vish Krishnan)

  • ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Many thanks to Renu Thamma for designing the layout of this page

I'm also indebted to Satish Mohapatra ([email protected]) for accomodating more than half the files of this page in his account while it was at Lehigh.

Thanks to the Indian Students Association at Lehigh and Faez Kaiser for providing disk space for backing-up the files of the music page

Thanks to Satish Subramanian for his valuable comments, and for providing a lot of articles and pictures included in this page.

Finally, thanks to all the RMIMers whose articles appear here

    CURRENT QUIZZES ON RMIM
